Replace fuel pump with integral fuel filter W169. If considering changing the fuel filter with integral fuel filter on your car you should consider the risk of explosion, and fire. Where lighting is required only safety lamps should be used, all work must be undertaken in a well ventilated area.
Consideration should be had as to the amount of petrol (Highly flammable liquid) remaining in the fuel tank..
Be aware that an empty tank is just as dangerous as a partially filled or full fuel one and can be heavy.
In view of these dangers you are advised to get the pump with integral filter replaced by a garage. It is claimed that the fuel filter will last the life of the car, however having seen fuel filters removed from W168 model A class I doubt if this will be found to be the case.
If you have starter relay burning out problems on your vehicle it could well be caused by restricted fuel flow caused by a partially blocked filter which will cause starting problems causing you to attempt to start the car multiple times. In such cases the fuel pressure should be measured before undertaking other work.
